WHY WE STARTED NOVASENSA
Novasensa was born out of a deeply personal realization
Our co-founder Aseem Trivedi grew up near the ancient Aravalli hills—once home to hundreds of migratory bird species, nestled in Delhi’s quiet biodiversity parks. But each return trip from New York with co-founder Vanessa Lacayo made the changes impossible to ignore: shrinking green spaces, thickening skies, and mounting waste. It was clear that something like Novasensa was not just timely—it was necessary.
WHY THE NAME 'NOVASENSA'
The name has two parts — Nova and Sensa
Nova comes from supernova—the explosive birth and death of stars that forged the elements making up our planet, our bodies, and our technologies. These events remind us that matter and energy are part of the same cycle of transformation.
Sensa comes from sensory perception—our brain’s ability to interpret the world through energy signals. But that energy itself comes from nature, from the food we eat and the air we breathe—all ultimately powered by stardust.
Novasensa reflects this cosmic connection: that the elements we recover, the energy we transform, and the awareness we cultivate are all part of one continuous, regenerative system.
